At the beginning of the 20th century, the château experienced a period marked by the equestrian passion of its owner, the Marquis de Hillerin. A great horse enthusiast, he developed a remarkable stud farm there, whose horses enjoyed a solid reputation . A new chapter in the estate's history began when the Diocese of Luçon acquired the property. The outbuildings were transformed into dormitories for the minor seminary, accommodating young boys who came to pursue their schooling and training.
