The Château de La Flocellière was owned by the Diocese of Luçon in the 1950s and 1960s. During this period, the illustrious Bishop of Luçon, Antoine-Marie Cazaux, stayed there on several occasions. The estate then housed diocesan educational activities, including a minor seminary and a seminary for late vocations.
The peace and serenity emanating from this room, nestled at the top of the East tower of the castle, naturally inspired its new name: the Bishop's Room.
